NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the regular meeting of the Union County Board of Elections scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 4 p.m. has been cancelled. The Board's next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 4 p.m. at the Board of Elections office located at 316-B East Windsor Street in Monroe, NC 28112.
WHEREAS, the Union County Board of Elections has the power to establish, alter, discontinue, or create such new election precincts or voting places as it may deem expedient in accordance with North Carolina General Statue 163-128(a); and
WHEREAS, the Union County Board of Elections has inspected said voting site to ensure the site is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and
Many Union County voters will vote at new polling sites for the November 7 Municipal Elections.
The Board of Elections created two new precincts to alleviate overcrowding at existing precincts. The new precincts are 0044 Millbridge Clubhouse and 0045 New Town Elementary School.
Early voting for the November 7, 2023, Municipal Elections begins on Thursday, October 19 at the Monroe Union County Library. The last day to vote early is Saturday, November 4. The Monroe Library is the only early voting location used for Municipal Elections.
The deadline to register to vote and update your address for the November 7, 2023, municipal elections is Friday, October 13. Under state law, the regular voter registration deadline is 25 days before an election.
The municipal elections for Fairview, Hemby Bridge, Indian Trail, Lake Park, Marshville, Marvin, Mineral Springs, Monroe, Stallings, Unionville, Waxhaw, Weddington, Wesley Chapel and Wingate will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
