The Union County Board of Elections will perform a random sample hand-to-eye count of the 2024 presidential contest on Monday, November 11 at 2 p.m.
The two random sites, Precinct #014 Indian Trail Library and Precinct #037B The Divide Clubhouse, were selected by the NC State Board of Elections. The sample audit count, required by state law, helps ensure the reliability of election results tabulated by a machine. Bipartisan teams will conduct the hand-to-eye count of all ballots in the randomly selected precincts and compare the results with the results of the machine counts. The process verifies the accuracy of the machine counts.
The audit, which is open to the public, will be held at the Board of Elections office located at 316-B E. Windsor Street in Monroe. Notice is given that a quorum of the Board of Elections may be present at the audit, but the Board will not take any official action.
