Whereas, NC General Statue 163-230.1(f) states that the county board of elections shall hold public meetings commencing on the fifth Tuesday before an election at 5:00 p.m. for the purpose of action on applications for absentee ballots. If the county board of elections changes the time of holding its meetings or provides for additional meetings, notice of the change in hour and notice of the schedule of additional meetings, if any, shall be published in a newspaper circulated in the county at least 30 days prior to the election. 

Now, therefore be it resolved, the Union County Board of Elections adopts a resolution to allow the time of the required meeting on October 13, 2026 to begin at 10:00 a.m. in their office located at 316-B East Windsor St., Monroe, NC 28112 and to schedule an additional meeting for Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. The meetings for September 29, October 6, October 20, October 27 and November 2, 2026 will be held at 5:00 p.m.
