The Union County Board of Elections is seeking election officials to work during early voting and the November 5 general election.
Early voting begins Thursday, October 17 and ends Saturday, November 2. Early voting workers are paid an hourly rate for attending training and working during early voting.
For the November 5 general election, polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Workers will be required to assist with the set–up of polling precincts on November 4 and work from 5:30 a.m. until approximately 8:30 p.m. or later Election Day. Election officials are paid a flat rate for attending training, setting up their precinct and working on November 5.
Election officials must be Union County residents and a Union County registered voter (or become registered if eligible). Election officials cannot be a candidate or relative of a candidate on the ballot and must not be an elected government official, hold office with a political party or be a treasurer for a candidate or political party.
Early voting training is scheduled for Friday, September 13 until Friday, September 20 at the Monroe Fire Department Station #4. Election official training for the general election is scheduled for Monday, September 30 until Wednesday, October 16 at the Simpson Events Center. Election officials are required to participate in one, four-hour training session.
