WHEREAS, the Union County Board of Elections has the power to establish, alter, discontinue, or create such new election precincts or voting places as it may deem expedient in accordance with North Carolina General Statue 163-128(a); and
WHEREAS, the Union County Board of Elections has inspected said voting site to ensure the site is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and
WHEREAS, the Union County Board of Elections shall give 45 days' notice thereof prior to the next primary or election, and the county board of elections shall mail a notice no later than thirty (30) days prior to each registered voter who as a result of the change will be assigned to a different polling place, and appropriate notices shall be given to the county political chairs and posted at the courthouse door and at the board of elections office and advertised in a newspaper having general circulation in the county.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Union County Board of Elections hereby approves a change in the polling place for the following precinct:
Precinct #022 polling site which was formerly located at JAARS, Townsend Building, 7405 Jaars Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173 will now be located at:
Hermon Baptist Church
9713 Lancaster Hwy.
Waxhaw, NC 28173
